Pre Deal: Buy & Sell Trade Locked items
Introduction
We are pleased to announce our latest feature: Pre Deal
Pre Deal allows you to buy and sell trade locked Counter-Strike items on GamerPay.
In short, a Seller can list their items for sale during the trade lock period and can then efficiently strike a deal with a buyer, while the item is in trade lock.
IMPORTANT:
The actual Steam trade can first take place after the trade lock period has ended.
GamerPay only reserves the money and skin on the site during the period. As such GamerPay does not, and will not, try and circumvent the trading mechanisms implemented by Valve.
We have launched this feature simply to safeguard those who want to make a deal in advance.
How Pre Deal works
Below we have outlined how the feature works in detail. You are also welcome to watch our How to video where we take you through the steps on how Pre Deal works for a Seller and Buyer.
How it works for Sellers
Step 1 as Seller: Navigate Your Trade Locked Items
Begin your journey with a comprehensive view of your inventory, under “Sell”. Here, you can effortlessly browse through all your items, with trade-locked ones prominently displayed. On the right side, you'll find the trade lock status along with the remaining time. You can also select whether you want to see trade locked items or not.
Step 2 as Seller: List Your Trade-Locked Items
Listing your CS items is easy with GamerPay. Say you want to sell your FAMAS Commemoration skin, which is still trade locked. Just set the price to match the market rate and hit 'list', and Voilà! Your item is now up for grabs for potential buyers!
Step 3 as Seller: Keep Track of Listings
Curious about your listed trade locked items? Head over to the "For Sale" section to get an instant overview of your offerings. Here, you can easily change the price of your trade locked items as well a delist incase you simply like your Commemoration skin too much.
Step 4 as Seller: Manage Trade Offers
When an interested buyer comes along, you'll receive prompt notifications via text and email about the sale of your trade locked item.
Go to “Trades” > “Tradelocks” > “As Seller”: here the skins that you have sold will be displayed. You will note that there is also a counter indicating when the item is out of trade lock, and thus can be traded.
Step 5 as Seller: Seal the Deal
When an item is out of trade lock, navigate to the "Trades"-section under the “Tradelocks” category to find your pending trade offers. Here, you can swiftly accept the offer within the designated time frame (you have 24 hours to accept).
Once you accept on Steam the buyer will get the skin and you will get your sales proceeds transferred to your wallet.
How it works for Buyers
Step 1 as Buyer: Find the trade locked skin of your dreams
Go to GamerPay’s marketplace under “Buy”. Here you can find a huge selection of skins. In this example your dream skin is the FAMAS Commemoration.
You will note that there is a label saying “Trade locked” on those items that are still locked. Next to it is a number, indicating how many days it is still locked.
Step 2 as Buyer: Buy the skin
When you have found the exact skin you want, you click Buy and will be taken to the checkout page, from which you can either purchase it with a card or the balance you might have available on your wallet. Note that if you purchase using your balance, GamerPay charges you no fee!
Step 3 as Buyer: Wait for the trade lock to expire
After the purchase is done you will get a confirmation, and you are able to track when the item is tradable. Head over to “Trades” > “Tradelocks” > “As Buyer” to check this.
Now you just need to wait for the item to become tradable.
Step 4 as Buyer: Make the trade to complete the deal
Once the item is tradable GamerPay will send you a notification and a text message, highlighting that you now need to complete the trade.
Important: the trade has to be created within 24 hours else you will get penalized 10% of the purchase price.
Now wait for Seller to accept the Steam trade offer and the deal will be completed.
Penalties
Both buyer and seller have to complete their part of the trade, else a penalty will occur.
If the Buyer does not create the trade (which they have 24 hours to do after the item is tradable) a penalty of 10% of the purchase price will be enforced.
If the Seller does not deliver the item they will get banned from GamerPay for 30 days.
Benefits of using Pre Deal
There are benefits from both a seller and buyer perspective.
The benefits for the sellers are that by using this feature, a better cash flow can be secured. You don’t have to wait for 7 days to pass before you can put the item up for sale, from which you might need to wait additional days before it sells.
Locking a deal in quickly can be very beneficial, especially for those who like to trade many items. Lastly, you as a seller can still enjoy and play with the skin until the trade locked period is over and you need to send it.
For buyers you will experience that GamerPay will be able to offer more skins at great prices. Additionally, you are also able to secure a great deal early on. This can be rather beneficial if you expect prices of CS skins to increase.
