Interview with NIP k0nfig and Brollan
Interview with k0nfig and Brollan
Together with our partner Ninjas in Pyjamas, we have prepared a little interview with two of their players.
We have asked Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke and Ludvig “Brollan“ Brolin a few questions regarding CS, tournaments, preparation and even CS2.
k0nfig is an og in the scene and he joined the Ninjas in early 2023, while Brollan transferred during the first few months of 2022 from Fnatic to NiP.
Get ready for their input on everything CS-related!
Without further ado, let us look at what k0nfig and Brollan have to say about the change from CSGO to CS2, and maybe even the CS2 release date?
The questions
How do you prepare for a major tournament? Could you share your practice and training routine?
k0nfig: Sit down and have around 2,5h of discussions about tactics.
Our practice and training routine is starting around 10 and end at around 7, we usually play between 4-5 practice matches.
Brollan: Just play as much as possible! It can be practice with the team or just some Face It with friends.
How do you handle the pressure during highly intense moments in a match, especially when the stakes are high?
k0nfig: How I normally handle pressure is with breathing techniques and remembering where we are as a team, and that we are playing in front of fans, which usually calms me down.
Brollan: I try to stay as calm as possible and I try not to think about stuff outside of the game. I just try to be in the moment and as confident as possible.
What are you looking forward to the most in CS2?
k0nfig: I am looking forward the most to exploring a new game and discovering all the new features.
Brollan: The graphic overhaul and the skins as well. It’s a new game, so try new things.
In what way do you think CS2 events will be different from CSGO events?
k0nfig: Everything comes down to how we learn the game in the beginning. The best way to learn a new game is just by playing it.
Brollan: It is gonna take time to figure out, new gameplay and new meta’s will change the game.
How do you feel being back in Cologne?
k0nfig: It feels great being back in Cologne, it feels amazing.
Brollan: I have been here two times before, I really like the city and the Lanxess always has been one of my dreams to play, and I haven’t played there yet so I am hoping to play in that arena.
What are your expectations for the following year in CS?
k0nfig: For this season with Hampus back on the team I expect a lot but also nothing, we are still in a phase of learning, and everything is still brand new.
Brollan: Try to improve as much as possible every day and be prepared for everything.
Which skins do you look forward to the most use in CS2?
k0nfig: I do not really care about skins, but I got a Ursus knife so I will be rocking that one.
Brollan: With my AK-47 | Case Hardened and Sapphire Knifes.
When do you think CS2 will be released?
k0nfig: I think CS2 will be released on the 14th of December.
Brollan: Maybe in October or November? It is probably gonna be a little bit later than planned.
Do you have access to the CS2 playtest and what is your opinion so far?
k0nfig: I got access really early but in all honesty, I haven’t really played the game.
Brollan: Yes I have, I did not play that much. It takes time for a game to become good. It is decent but it could become better.
Conclusion
A big thank you to NiP, and especially Brollan and k0nfig who took the time out of their day to answer our questions.
It is really nice to see what the pros are thinking about CS2 and the little insight into the highly competitive CSGO world.
We hope that this article gave you some insight into not only the minds of the Ninjas but also what is going on in many heads of pros from all across the globe.
