Icarus Fell Pattern Guide

Welcome to our M4A1-S | Icarus Fell skin pattern guide. The Icarus Fell was added to the game on 26 May 2015 as part of the ‘Gods and Monsters Collection’.

The skin features the symbolic from the Greek mythology of the Icarus story (sun, feathers, and molten wax). It is characterised above all by various dark blue tones on the background, with turquoise motifs. This creates a beautiful contrast without using complimentary colours.
The skin is only available in FN or MW and you can hardly tell the difference between the condition. Normally, the Icarus skin will cost you around €400.

The Story of Icarus Fell (mythological background)

The story of Icarus who wants to fly to the sun is one of the best known. Short version: Icarus is given wings and the feathers are attached with wax. He is warned not to fly too high towards the sun, but does so anyway and falls into the sea and dies. What sounds tragic from today's perspective was, for the Greeks of the time, a just punishment for Icarus' insolence and the sacrilege against the gods.

How is the pattern of the Icarus Fell composed?

As most of you know, some skins in CS2 have a different appearance depending on how the pattern is ‘attached’ to the weapon. The Icarus Fell has significantly more patterns than it might appear at first glance. However, you can hardly tell the difference with most of them. However, you can hardly tell the difference with most of them. In this guide, we would like to show you the different phases that may have slight differences within their patterns. All in all, you will find all 1000 possible pattern numbers of the Icarus Fell under the respective phases.

In the case of the Icarus skin, the pattern shifts along the X-axis (X-offset). Depending on the X-offset, you have a lighter, turquoise skin with lots of motifs (sun, wax, feathers) or a darker skin with various shades of dark blue and less motifs.

In the following video you can see how the pattern changes with the X-offset from low to high.

Pattern Comparison

X-Offset: High to Low

As you can see, the sun moves from the left side of the weapon (front) to the right side (back) within the 1000 possible patterns.

Dark vs. Light

As you can see from the direct comparison, the Dark Pattern is characterised by little pattern on the body, but it has spring components on the silencer and barrel. The sun with feathers and wax can be seen on the stock. The rod magazine has some wax spots. The grip is decorated with feathers.

The light-coloured opposite has spread the sun over the entire body of the weapon. The stock is quite dark with little motif. Instead of the feathers you can see wax stains on the silencer and barrel. The grip and magazin are also dark.

Dark Patterns

The darkest pattern is characterised by the absence of the turquoise motifs on the body of the M4A1-S. The sun with feathers can be seen on the stock. The feathers can also be seen on the silencer, barrel and grip.

Feathers Pattern

In these patterns you can see more and more feathers on the body, silencer, grip and barrel of the weapon. Part of the sun can only be seen on the stock, where the melted wax is now visible. The melted wax on the rod magazine disappears completely.

Depending on the X-Offest, you will slowly see more feathers appearing

Sun feather pattern

With these patterns you will see parts of the sun appear on the body. The silencer is completely covered with feathers and partially melted wax, the same applies to the grip. From now on, the patterns are much lighter in colour. The dark blue part of the rod magazine increases and the black part slides downwards.

Wax Feather Sun Pattern

In these patterns you can see the melted wax on the body of the weapon. The proportion of springs on the silencer is reduced, the same applies to the grip. The barrel has scattered drops of wax while the bottom of the barreled magazine is now dark blue and the proportion of black at the top is increasing again.

Light Pattern

The proportion of light/turquoise areas is quite high in these patterns. You can see the sun with wax and feathers. The shoulder rest is clearly darker, with a few wax spots. On the silencer and grip, you can also only recognise melted wax. The rod magazine has very little to no turquoise colour, as does the barrel. We have subdivided the bright patterns so that you can easily recognise the different positions of the sun!

Back Sun Pattern

In these patterns, the sun shifts more and more towards the rear of the main body of the M4A1-S. The shoulder stock, grip, barreled magazine and barrel are almost devoid of light-coloured elements. The silencer has scattered drops of wax at the very front.

Community Pattern

Unlike to other pattern based skins there is not a real #1 pattern which is the rarest or the most desireable it rather comes down to personal preferences. The most common patterns in the community are full sun patterns, which show a relatively large amount of the motif, but patterns in which feathers are symmetrically recognisable on the body of the weapon and the grip also enjoy a certain popularity. Be that as it may. We hope that this guide will give you the opportunity to choose your own favourite pattern.

Conclusion

As you can see, the Icarus fell offers far more variations than is usually the case.
